This assessment is designed help you understand the duties and responsibilities you will be taking on as owner-builder.

You will need to complete the assessment before you can apply to the BPC for an owner-builder certificate of consent.

Please note: the person who completes the assessment must be the same person that applies for an owner-builder certificate of consent. If you knowingly make a false or misleading statement to the BPC you will have committed an offence and you may have to pay a monetary penalty. The BPC may use a range of measures, including contacting applicants, to confirm the knowledge of the person who completed the assessment.
